The History of the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch

The history of IWC’s popular Big Pilot’s Replica Watch stretches further back in time than the histories of most wristwatches. IWC first made the watch for the German Air Force in 1940. The Big Pilot’s steel Replica Watch also has a sapphire back. The rose-gold rotor bears the letter A – the initial of the first name of the pilot and author; another letter A is on the dial. Unlike the perpetual calendar in the Top Gun line, this watch has a simple moon-phase display. IWC uses the elegant numerals with serifs on the annual calendars and on the perpetual calendar in this edition.

IWC Pilot’s Replica Watch Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Edition

IWC Replica has taken inspiration from both Antoine himself and from his book to create the Petit Prince sub-collection. The most recent addition to the collection is the Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Edition.

Dressed in 18K red gold, the case measures 43mm in diameter and is a thick 16mm. The dial of the watch is done in a midnight blue as a reference to Antoine’s little prince. While this is the second time that IWC has used their Fake IWC 89630 caliber movement, it’s the first time that they have offered a perpetual calendar in a pilot’s watch.

The Replica Watch has displays for the day, date month, leap year, and moon phase. The perpetual calendar is good through 2100 without needing to be adjusted. It also shows hours, minutes, small seconds, and a chronograph. With a power reserve of 68 hours, this automatic winder houses 51 jewels.

The Fake IWC watch is water resistant up to 60 meters and comes with a brown leather strap.
